No matter how hard he tried to reverse it with diet and exercise, Will was faced with an embarrassing problem: he had abnormally large mammary glands. Will didn’t like the attention his large mammary glands received. Not only the odd looks he got at the beach or at the gym, but having people joke about his breasts, calling them “Moobs.” His self-consciousness was preventing him from really letting go and experiencing life.

First, Will spoke with his family physician, but was told to simply continue with proper diet and exercise. Will wasn’t satisfied with that answer and began to research his condition, and discovering that his issue was a real one, which many men face.

Will had Gynecomastia, which is the abnormal development of large mammary glands in males. This results in breast enlargement. Certain lifestyle factors can also contribute to Gynecomastia. Those who are overweight should first address the issue through diet and exercise. Additionally, excessive use of alcohol, marijuana, or anabolic steroids can cause Gynecomastia.

Will decided to undergo Gynecomastia Surgery through a board certified plastic surgeon. The procedure removes fat and/or glandular tissue from the breasts, and, if necessary, excess skin. Once completed, the result is a flatter, firmer chest, more consistent with masculine body contour. Will was very happy with the results, leading to increased self-esteem and a better body image.
