The Pony Tail Goes To Work

I sure wish I had Samuel Shriqui in my bathroom this morning.  His simple daytime ponytail, complete with the twist of my own hair in back was a far cry from the peanut butter smeared mess (courtesy of Jason, our two year old) tied back in a scrunchie that looked back at me in the mirror.  Oh for the good old days – a smooth and professional ponytail for daytime, sleek and sophisticated looks for evening, a sophisticated up do for those special events…

But back to the bathroom.  Yes, Samuel, as the commercial used to say “take me away”.  But on second thought, maybe I can get in a quick shower while Jason is trying to stuff the dog in the garbage can, scrub out the peanut butter, put on something half way presentable and take him off to his Chaverim Connection class at the JCC.

But don’t lose hope in me Samuel.  Maybe I can beg, borrow or steal an appointment to your salon for a new do – something short but fem, easy to care for but chic – really anything but the mess I have now. But please, nothing like my mother and her friend have in Westport – the same cut they’ve been wearing since they were nine.  What do you think – is there hope for me?
